Marcello’s passion for athletics and soccer led him to become a professional soccer player for teams in Costa Rica, Germany and Uruguay. After 10 years, Marcello decided that rehabilitation and contributing to people’s quality of life was the other passion of his life. In 2009 Marcello graduated with a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from Santa Paula University in Costa Rica. Before moving to Canada in 2013, Marcello was the head of the Physiotherapy Department for the Costa Rican National Soccer Team where he rehabilitated elite soccer athletes. In this capacity, he participated in important international FIFA tournaments, such as the America Cup, Gold Cup and UNCAF cup. Marcello also had a successful private physiotherapy practice where he rehabilitated neurological conditions, orthopaedic conditions, and sports injuries, amongst others. He is FIFA certified in the prevention of injuries in soccer players. While he is completing the licensing process to be able to practice as a licensed Physiotherapist in Canada, he is working as a Therapist Assistant and sports rehabilitation assistant, as well as a soccer coach with Okanagan FC.
